Guidelines for Abstracts

We recommend using the information below to prepare your abstracts.

  • The abstract should be no longer than 300 words.
  • The structure of the abstract should include:
    • Title (in capital letters)
    • Author(s) name(s)
    • Institution(s) represented
    • Body of the abstract
    • 3–5 key words

If applicable, you may also indicate supervisors and/or consultants at the end of the abstract.

Structure of the Abstract

Your abstract should be organized into the following sections, each with an appropriate heading:

  1. Introduction – Explain the research problem and the aim of the study.
  2. Methodology – Describe the sample, instruments used, research process, and how the data were collected and analyzed.
  3. Results – Present the key findings of the study.
  4. Discussion and/or Conclusions – Interpret the significance of the results in relation to the research problem and summarize the main findings.

Each section should have a clear and appropriate title (e.g., ‘Introduction’, ‘Methodology’, ‘Results’, ‘Discussion’, and/or ‘Conclusions’).
